Grouping and ungrouping

Overview

Layers can be grouped together to make it easy to lock a group of layers, move them in tandem on Canvas, clone or copy them, resize them proportionately, or add actions.

Group Layer

  1. Select layers: There are two ways to select layers to be grouped

    • Drag on canvas: Left click the mouse and drag it over the area in which the layers you want to group are situated

    • Shift and click: Alternatively you can select each layer to be grouped by holding the shift key and selecting the layers to be grouped.

  2. Group layers: When you do the above you will find the Group Layer button appear on the right hand side of the Canvas. Click on it.

Ungroup Layer

To ungroup a group you select the group. You will see an Ungroup button appear on the right hand side of the Canvas. Click on it.

Note:

Layers within a group cannot be Animated or Positioned, but they can be Styled. In contrast, the Group layer itself cannot be Styled but can be Animated and Positioned. To select a layer within a group, click on it. To select the Group layer, double-click on the layer within the group.
