Download Action
Download actions allow users to download documents, such as marketing collateral or informational PDFs. These actions can be either gated or ungated. A gated download action requires users to fill out a form before accessing the document, while an ungated download action allows users to download the document without providing any information.
Add Download Action:
To add download action to a layer
Open context menu: Right-click on the layer to bring up the context menu, then select "Add Action."
Open action configurator: From the Add Action menu, choose Download Action to open the Action Configurator.
Enter required information: Configure the following parameters to add a Download Action
Conversion: Decide whether to tag the action as a partial or final conversion.
Document to be Downloaded: Click on Upload Document to select the file you want to associate with the download action. Keep in mind that the document must first be uploaded via the media layer. The upload button allows you to choose a document that has already been uploaded
Remove document: If you need to change the document linked to the download action, remove the current document first, then upload a new one.
Gated versus Ungated Download:
Gated download: To force the user to provide information for the document add a form field with the information you want and make the field "required".
Ungated download: You can deselect the Is Required in the form field or not have form field on the scene.
Note:
Download actions function differently on desktop and mobile devices. On a desktop, the document linked to the download action will be saved directly to the computer. However, on a mobile device, the document typically opens in a new tab, which might interrupt your campaign's flow. To avoid this on mobile, consider configuring the download action to send the document to the visitor via email, rather than opening it in another tab.
