Select action
Overview
Select actions are used to seek user feedback, obtain user's interests, collect user demographics and other such data. You can also combine this action with scene filters to personalize users story.
Add Select Action:
To add branch action to a layer
Open context menu: Right-click on the layer to bring up the context menu, then select "Add Action."
Open action configurator: From the Add Action menu, choose Select Action to open the Action Configurator.
Enter required information: Configure the following parameters to add a Select Action
Is required: When selected, the scene will not be auto-forward even if auto-forwarding is enabled. This forces the user to make a selection. All Select actions on a scene must have the same "Is Required" setting. If you change "Is Required" to a different value than what is set on another Select action, a warning will be displayed.
Selection type: This can be either Multiple Choice or Single Choice.
Multiple Choice: Allows users to make multiple selections. For this option, you must add a layer with a Submit Action to the scene. The user will need to click the Submit Action layer to submit their choices and advance the story to the next scene.
Single Choice: Can be used with or without a Submit Action. If Single Choice Select actions are used without a Submit Action, the story will proceed to the next scene as soon as the user makes a selection.
Selection name: Selection names are used to group selections and can be anything you choose. All selections on a scene must have the same name. If different names are used, a warning will appear.
Selection value: The value is stored in the Visuel.ly Monitor repository or sent to your third-party application. Each selection's name-value pair is saved, and the value must be unique for each selection.
Conversion: Decide if you want to tag it as partial or final conversion
