Branch action

Overview

Clicking on a branch action alters the story's progression, leading the user to a different scene based on their choice. This is one of three methods to personalize a ^Visuel.ly story, along with adding a Story Action to a scene and utilizing Filters.

Add Branch Action:

To add branch action to a layer

1. Open context menu: Right-click on the layer to bring up the context menu, then select Add Action.

2. Open action configurator: From the Add Action menu, choose Branch Action to open the _{Action Configurator}.

3. Enter required information: Configure the following parameters to add a Branch Action

   • Conversion: Decide whether to tag the action as a partial or final conversion. Following are the parameters that you need to select to add a branch action to a layer.

   • Is required: When selected, the scene will not be auto-forward even if auto-forwarding is enabled. This forces the user to make a selection.

   • Go to a scene: Choose to direct the user to another scene within the story. You can select a scene that follows or precedes the current one. A dropdown list of scenes in your story will appear, and you need to select one.

   • Go to an External Page: Optionally, you can direct the user to a website page, which is useful for handling payments, registrations, or directing the user to a high-value page.

     • Enter the webpage URL in the input field.

     • Decide whether to close the story and replace it with this webpage.

     • Determine if this action should be marked as a partial or final conversion event.
