Campaign Data
One of Visuel.ly's standout features is its ability to reverify and update user data within CRM databases. Often, these databases contain outdated or incomplete information, such as missing email address or phone number or company name.
Visuel.ly allows you to create campaigns that automatically prepopulate data in Scenes created with Form Layers or Select Actions, making it particularly useful for campaigns focused on verifying and updating existing user information and filling in missing data fields.
Upload Campaign Data
To take advantage of this feature, follow these steps to upload user data into your campaign:
Access the campaign builder: Click on the Campaign name in the Campaigns Dashboard.
Open campaign setup: Click on the Setup menu
Select data: Click on the Data submenu on the left-hand side.
Upload data: Click the Upload button and choose the file from your computer.
The file should be in Excel or CSV format.
File Format Requirements
The file you upload must follow certain conventions. Here are some general guidelines:
Individual visitor data: Each row should contain data specific to an individual visitor.
Unique identifier: The first column of the file should contain a unique identifier for each user. The column name can be anything.
Column headers:
The column headers should match the field names used in the Form Layers to be prepopulated. For instance, in the sample data below, "firstName" and "companyName" are the field names in the Form Layers of the Scene in the campaign.
The column headers for the data should match the names of Select Actions to be prepopulated. In the sample data shown below, firstName, companyName are the name fields used in the form layers of the scene in the campaign.
For scenes with Single Choice Select Actions, the data should be in a single column. For example, in the example shown below, "primary-business-activity" is a single-choice question and hence it is in a single column.
For scenes with Multiple Choice Select Actions, the data should be spread across multiple columns. For example, in the example shown below, "event-location" is a multiple-choice question.
Warning:
If you upload a new Campaign Data file after a campaign has been published, you will need to republish the campaign for the data changes to take effect. Additionally, to retain data for existing users in the republished campaign, the unique user IDs must remain unchanged.
Note:
Ensure that the unique user identifier is included as a query parameter in the URL you embed within the channel (e.g., email or Google AdWords) used to publish your campaign. The key for the URL should be "unid," and the value should correspond to the value in the first column of your campaign data file.
