Payments with digital wallets
Overview
Traditional online credit card processing can be cumbersome, requiring users to input their credit card information, address, and other details. This often results in a significant drop-off at the payment stage, as users may not have this information readily available.
Digital wallets eliminate this friction, streamlining the payment process. With Apple Pay or Google Pay, users can complete their transaction with just a few clicks on their phone's side button. With PayPal, users simply need to enter their account email and password, without having to manually input their credit card or shipping address.
Payment Processing With Wallets
Visuel.ly supports Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal, making it easy to incorporate these seamless payment methods into your story. Follow these steps to set it up:
Create user prompt: Add a question at the top of the scene using a Text Layer to prompt users to select one of the available digital wallets for payment. Optionally, use another Text Layer to add a subtitle that provides additional context or instructions.
Add digital wallets: Open the App Layer Selector by clicking on the Dollar Icon on the left side of the Canvas. Select the digital wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal) you want to add to the scene.
Configure Wallets: Now configure each of the digital wallet.
For PayPal:
Customize the button color to match your design preferences.
For ApplePay
Choose the button label that will be displayed to users.
Decide whether to request users' shipping and billing addresses.
Determine if you want users to provide their phone numbers and email addresses.
Enter the Merchant name associated with your payment processor.
For GooglePay
Select the button label that will be displayed.
Choose whether to collect users' shipping and billing addresses.
Decide if you want users to provide their email addresses.
Configure data send: Digital wallets function by sending payment data to processors. Click on Configure Scene and select the appropriate options in the Send to data fields:
Choose "Braintree" for Google Pay or Apple Pay.
Choose "PayPal" if you are using PayPal.
Warnings:
For digital wallet processing to function properly, you need to configure the Scene to send data to the correct third-party payment processing vendor. Currently, this vendor is Braintree.
Notes:
To use ApplePay and GooglePay, you need a merchant account with Braintree, a subsidiary of PayPal. For PayPal, you also need a merchant account with PayPal. Additionally, you must add both Braintree and PayPal in the Integrations module located in the Account Settings section. Stripe and other payment processors will be added soon. If you have other requirements, please let us know.
