Labels
Visuel.ly offers a unique approach to personalization that does not rely on guessing what visitors might want. Instead, it asks users directly within stories about their interests and then changes the story to match their preferences. There are three primary methods for personalizing stories in Visuel.ly: Branch Actions, Story Actions, and Branch Filters.
How Filters Work
Create labels: Start by creating Scene Labels for your campaign. For example, if you’re selling shoes, labels might include running, tennis, basketball, and golf shoes.
Add labels: Apply the Labels to the relevant scenes using the options you created (e.g., running, tennis, basketball, golf). Not all scenes need to be labeled.
Ask user preference: Add a Scene where you use Select Actions to ask users about their preferences.
Set filter branch: In the Scene where you ask users for their preferences, set up a Filter Branch to customize the story based on their selection
Creating Labels
Navigate to setup: Click on the Setup menu at the top of the screen.
Go to labels: Select the Label submenu.
Add labels: Enter the name of a label and click Save.
You can delete a label by hovering over it and clicking the trash icon. To edit a Label, simply update the name and click Save.
Warning:
You can edit the name of a Label without affecting the Filter Configuration. The Scenes and Filter Branches will update to reflect the new label. However, deleting a label that has been used in Filter Configuration will impact the filters' functionality. You may not be able to Publish or Preview the campaign after deleting such a label.
