Grouping

Layers can be grouped together, and these groups can even be nested to form larger groups. Grouping layers offers several advantages:

  1. Movement: Grouping allows you to move a set of layers while maintaining their relative positions, making adjustments easier.

  2. Resize: Groups make it simple to resize layers together, preserving their proportions relative to each other.

  3. Duplicate: Instead of duplicating layers one by one, you can duplicate an entire group at once, saving time and effort.

  4. Copying: Grouping simplifies the process of copying multiple layers from one scene to another.

  5. Actions: You can attach actions to a group, which is especially useful when dealing with hybrid layers like images, graphics, and text.

  6. Animation: Grouping allows you to animate all the layers within a group simultaneously, without needing to apply animations to each layer individually.

Limitations of Grouped Layers:

  1. Child layers: Cannot be individually animated or repositioned but can be styled.

  2. Group layer: Group as a whole cannot be styled. However, it can be animated or positioned.

    Note:

Layers within a group cannot be Animated or Positioned, but they can be Styled. In contrast, the Group layer itself cannot be Styled but can be Animated and Positioned. To select a layer within a group, click on it. To select the Group layer, double-click on the layer within the group.
