Personalizing with Filters - Step 4
Overview
Create labels: Start by establishing Scene Labels for your campaign. For instance, if you're selling shoes, labels might include running, tennis, basketball, and golf shoes.
Get user preferences: Design a Scene where you use Select Actions to ask users about their shoe preferences. For instance, you could ask, “Which type of shoes are you interested in?” Ensure the options match the labels you’ve created (e.g., running shoes, tennis shoes).
Label subsequent scenes: Apply these labels to scenes that feature content relevant to each label. For example, scenes showcasing running shoes should be labeled “running shoes,” while scenes about tennis shoes should be labeled “tennis shoes.” Not every scene needs a label.
Use filter branch: In the Scene where you gather user preferences, set up a Filter Branch. For each preference option (e.g., running shoes, tennis shoes), configure the branch to direct users to scenes with the corresponding label that matches their choice.
Use Filter Branch
The final step involves adding a filter branch to the scene where users make their selections. A filter branch will filter (or hide) all subsequent scenes, displaying only those that match the user’s choices.
Select the correct scene: Choose the scene you've created to gather user preferences.
Open scene branch configuration : Click the Scene Configure button on the right side of the Canvas, then select Branch.
Configure filter: Match each of the answer choices you've created with Select Action to the corresponding Scene Labels.
In the example illustrated in the video, if the user selects Invisalign only the scenes with an "Invisalign" label and ones without labels will be shown. Scenes that have to with cosmetics or sealants or cavities will be automatically filtered or hidden.
Note:
You must complete the Filter configuration by assigning Scene Labels to all Select Actions. Without this configuration, you won’t be able to Publish or Preview the campaign. Additionally, if you delete a Select Action after the Filter has been set up, Scenes with labels mapped to the deleted Select Action will not be shown to any users.
