Email and SMS opt-ins
Visitors often do not take action on their first visit to a website, so a common marketing goal is to collect first-party data. Obtaining an email address or SMS opt-in is crucial as it allows for effective omni-channel communication. Without a platform like Visuel.ly, this is typically achieved through intrusive pop-ups.
Asking for Email & SMS Opt-Ins
With Visuel.ly adding a scene, with an email or SMS opt-in, at the end of the story is a breeze.
Add a Form Layer: Click the Forms button at the top of the Canvas and select an input field form layer.
Configure Form Layer:
Is Required: Check the box to make the field required, ensuring users provide their email or phone number.
Placeholder: Add a placeholder text for the field to indicate whether you are requesting a phone number or email.
Form type: Set the form type to "lead."
Field name: Choose a field name from the dropdown menu, either phone or email.
Add a Submit Layer: Below the form layer, add a layer with a Submit Action. Tag it as a conversion if you consider the submission to be a conversion event.
Add disclaimers: Optionally, include legal disclaimers, especially if you are requesting SMS opt-ins.
Then you are done!
Notes:
Email opt-ins can be configured to require work emails only, excluding free personal email addresses such as Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, and others.
