Overview

Visuel.ly campaigns can target two main categories of visitors:

  1. SEO traffic: Visitors who reach a specific page on your website via links from search engine results on Google, Bing, or other search engines.

  2. Paid traffic: Visitors who reach your landing page by clicking on a paid advertisement. This includes various digital advertising channels such as social media ads, search ads, banner ads, direct mail, and more.

The way campaigns for these two types of visitors is activated is different. For paid traffic:

Obtain Query Parameter

  1. Navigate to activate: Click the Launch menu button of the Campaign Builder at the top of the screen, then select the Activate submenu from the left-hand side.

  2. Copy query parameter: Click the Copy icon next to the URL query parameter to copy it to your clipboard.

Add Query Parameter

  1. Create a URL with query parameter: Append the query parameter string to the URL that directs traffic to your website. For example, https://example.com?atrrrd=HIACXYuq73QJgB. You can append other query parameters to this url.

  2. Insert query parameter: Use a URL shortener like Bitly to condense the link, then add the shortened URL to an email, social media post, search ad, or even a QR code.

  3. Publish campaign: Ensure that your campaign is published else a click on the URL link will not open the Visuel.ly campaign.
